Hydration Affects Weight Too
A recent study published in the Annals of Family Medicine examined hydration in relation to obesity and Body Mass Index (BMI). In short, they discovered that the likelihood of being obese was 1.59 times higher for those who were inadequately hydrated. They suggested that “water, an essential nutrient, may deserve greater focus in weight management research and clinical strategies.” This confirms what many weight loss programs are already advocating: drink lots of water while dieting. But, it is also good advice for anyone wanting to keep their weight in check.
