Yakima Farmers’ Market

DSC_0016Healthy eating begins with our food sources. We are fortunate to live in such a fertile place, where it is possible to grow a wide assortment of nourishing foods. For those of us unable to grow our own, the Yakima Farmers’ Market is a great place to connect with locals who are.

Of course, getting food from a farmers’ market is no guarantee of better nutrition. Nevertheless, there are a number of significant benefits, including interacting with growers to learn about their practices, fresher fruits and vegetables, minimal transportation, and supporting our local economy.

For those who don’t know, the Yakima Farmers’ Market runs every Sunday through October, from 9:00am to 2:00pm; and is located in front of the Capitol Theater, on South Third Street.
