Aspartame May Prevent Weight Loss

aspartameResearchers at Massachusetts General Hospital believe they have found out why aspartame may prevent weight loss instead of helping to promote weight loss. The theory is that phenylalanine interferes with an enzyme that has been shown to prevent metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome is a numberĀ of symptoms which can lead to type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. If you haven’t already stopped drinking diet soda pop because of other health risk factors, does this make it easier for you to stop drinking them now?
