Caffeine Could Prevent Dementia
Apart from the concerns of too much caffeine consumption, there have been a number of health benefits identified related to coffee. The latest study to show this is one published in the journal Scientific Reports. Indiana University researchers identified twenty four compounds with the potential to boost an enzyme, called NMNAT2, in the brain shown to protect against dementia. Caffeine is one of them. This discovery will help in the future research and treatment of mental disorders. It is probably too early to suggest, however, that we should increase our caffeine intake based on this study alone.
