Vegetables May Reduce Stress

We live in a stressful world, but new research out of Australia suggests that eating vegetables could help! In a study of 60,000 adults, published in the British Medical Journal Open, researchers found that “increasing fruit and vegetable consumption may help reduce psychological distress in middle-aged and older adults.” While eating fruit is part of this, it only seemed to be the case when consumed along with vegetables. And, women seemed to have more benefits from eating vegetables than men. All of this reinforces what your mother once told you: “Eat your veggies!”
