Changing Your Diet Can Help You Live Longer

We all know that good nutrition is vital to a healthy, long life; but there is actual little research that has examined the effects of what happens over the long term when someone makes major dietary changes. A study, recently published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine, tackled this issue and found that “improved diet quality over 12 years was consistently associated with a decreased risk of death.” In particular, they found that those following the Alternative Healthy Eating Diet (which includes foods that reduce chronic disease risk) or the Alternative Mediterranean Diet (which emphasizes vegetables, fish and olive oil) experienced the best results (20% improvement). Even something as basic as eating a handful of nuts or legumes a day instead of meat can reduce the risk of an early death by 17%.

One way to get started with better nutrition is a comprehensive supplementation program, several of which we offer.
