Cocoa is Good for Your Thinking
We’ve all heard about the health values of dark chocolate, and a new review of research in the journal, Frontiers of Nutrition, gives credence to that, but extends it to the cocoa bean, and its derivatives, in general. Specifically, it was found that “cocoa flavanols administration can be effective at sustaining cognitive performance, leading to improvements in measures of general cognition, attention, processing speed and memory.” These polyphenols appear to have neuroprotective effects. While all foods containing cocoa has these benefits, dark chocolate is still preferred because the concentration of these ingredients is higher. In any case, you can improve your health, and enjoy yourself at the same time!
