Moderate Exercise Can Benefit Older Obese Adults

This might seem obvious, but it is never too late to incorporate physical activity into your life. Research in the journal Obesity found that even “older persons with obesity at high risk for mobility disability benefited from a structured moderate-intensity physical activity program, demonstrating a reduced risk of MMD [major mobility disability]”. Obesity can be a vicious circle, making it difficult to exercise, which in turn lead to decreased health. Returning to a healthy weight can be a long journey for older adults, but getting moving can be a good place to start.
