Mediterranean Diet Linked to Better Cognitive Health

The Mediterranean diet has received much attention in recent years, especially for its heart health benefits. But, now a study, published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, reveals its positive effects on memory in older adults. Researchers discovered that those who ate a Mediterranean diet, or a related one (the MIND diet – Mediterranean-DASH diet Intervention for Neurodegeneration Delay) had “better cognitive function and lower risk of cognitive impairment.” So, here’s another reason to focus more on plant-based foods, healthy oils, herbs and spices, and possibly red wine!
