Nutritional Help for Sleep

Getting adequate and quality sleep is vital to good health, but for many it is difficult to achieve. There are, however, a number of things each of us can do to improve our sleep, and therefore our health. This includes pre-bedtime rituals, exercise, and avoiding caffeine and alcohol in the evening. Shaklee’s Naturally blog discusses these issues, and also provides some valuable advice on nutritional strategies for good sleep. In particular, they mention that calcium and magnesium are two minerals that aid in relaxation, a reason some people drink milk before bedtime. In addition, there is evidence that L-theanine (an amino acid found in green tea), and the herbs chamomile and valerian also contribute to calmness and relaxation. How is your sleep life?
