Food Preservatives Can Contribute to Obesity

Your weight is not just a matter of how many calories you eat or expend. New research, published in the journal Nature Communications, shows that certain chemicals can disrupt human hormones and promote obesity. The study examined three endocrine disruptors, and found that the worst culprit is butylhydroxytoluene (BHT), an antioxidant often added to breakfast cereals and other foods to protect nutrients and keep fats from turning rancid. All of this reveals that there is still much we do not know about the thousands of chemicals that we are exposed to in our food and homes, and the impact they could have on our health.

We offer a wide range of nutritional, personal care and household products that are designed and tested to be safe, and free of harmful chemicals.
